Today the blogs are alive with the sound of deals.
Eater is reporting on its Dealfeed that Alto, Midtown's three-star Italian, is waiving its corkage fee until September. That will save you a cool $60! Limit is one bottle though.
Grub Street has put together all the inauguration deals by time of day - making for a handy guide to getting sloshed morning, noon and night. Eater went the less comprehensive map route.
Ahead, some good news for a change plus beer brews.

Yesterday's Page Six Magazine ties in beer cocktails to Sunday football for some unknown reason. Note to mag - football fans like beer in its simplest form. Restaurants featured include Southern Hospitality (this place is still open?) and Hearth. Tailor gets a mention but no photo or recipe for the best in show - in our book - their version of the Blood & Sand made with cherry ale.
EV Grieve was on the scene early in the day and has pics of The Holiday Cocktail Lounge poised to re-open. Finally some good news for lovers of dive bars everywhere.
Lastly, Crain's NY gives some props to beer dinners and beer programs at high end restaurants. Yup, Daniel is having a beer dinner and Per Se has added a beer menu. Tabla reports sales of beer is up 8% and they've added more beers to their list. Of course, this means yet more places where you will pay $7 to $9 for a bottle of beer - aka the ripoff of the year.
